Just spotted this forum, thought I'd better say 'hi'.

My names Rich, and I'm a P6 lover. Some years back I lived the dream and bought a P6 3500. Less than 3 weeks later the missus upped and left and I had to sell her to bolster my divorce fund :( If anyone knows if DTB937J, almond 3500 with vinyl roof, is still alive then lemme know.

Anyway, life goes on and I'm now finding myself wanting another P6. I'm thinking of a solid but scruffy one with a little bit of MOT around the sub £1000 mark. Must be pre 73 for obvious reasons. I've been looking on ebay and a few have gone by in that price range, but I'm having an operation to rebuild a busted elbow next month and want to get myself fixed up before buying a 4 pot P6 to fix up.

so, come spring I'll be shopping. Until then I have to dream!

Cheers,

Rich

Hello and welcome, and I hope you find the vehicle you desire. I like your 'avatar', thats funny!

I love the smell of Castrol R, I am sure that women who wore that as a pefume would get a long trail of followers 8)

Isn't it the smell of burnt Castrol R we like ?
Never been out with a woman who's burning oil , although some have been well worn

It may well be known to the forum members,so hopefully somewone will pass on your info to the owner, and they can give you a call.
Maybe even sell it to you!!
Good luck!

It's like the old comedian said, when asked if he smoked after making love. He replied, "I don't know, i've never looked!"

Getting my coat now

Ah, cheers Dave. I sold her in 2004 to a bloke in Scotland who was setting up his own classic car hire firm. She has a sound base unit waxoyled within an inch of its life, and tidyish outer panels, but the whole project was sunk by a damn woman :(

I'll deffo be after a 4 pot this time as I plan to use it daily throughout the summer - the difference between 15 and 25ish mpg is very apparent when you're racking up the miles rather than just waxing them!

Hello Quincy (great name!), good to know you... Let me just say that the folks on here are amongst the most helpful on the web & will try their best to help you with any problem (P6 related of course!!!) no matter how large or small...! I have a '74 3500 at the moment but my first P6 was a '72 2000TC (where are you KMH 909K?!) which was corking & I'm sure you'll be able to find a tidily solid one of those for a tickle under a grand... Good luck and all the best...
