Fuseboard mystery

I have a spare part in my toolbox, which I cleared out today. I seem to remember removing this from the rear of a scrap P6 fuseboard around 16 years ago. It is a plastic plate which appears to provide protection between the live terminals and the bulkhead. It has 2 holes for the fuseboard fixing screws to pass through and a horizontal raised piece suggesting a division between the terminals on the feed and supply sides of the board. My S2 V8 doesn't have one fitted - should it have one??

My Rover does not have one and the other Rovers that I have seen with their fuse boxes out didn't have such a thing either. To top it all off it does not appear in the parts catalogue, so the likely outcome is that a former owner or similar chose to put it there.

Mine has one.

Difficult little begger to line up when refitting the fuse box, but as it was there, I re-fitted it.

Gee, is it in the parts book Richard or am I just not seeing it?

Ron.

Haven't looked in the parts book Ron, but then there are parts in my rear calipers that aren't in there.

I was surprised to see it so took some pics 8)

That's the one Richard, many thanks!

When I get a minute I will have a go at slipping it in.

Edit - the missus is just having a post barbecue snooze, so this gave me a good opportunity to give it a go.

It took all of three minutes to undo the screws, slip the plate in and re-tighten the screws. And that included extricating myself from the foetal position in the footwell afterwards! I must have the magic touch this afternoon. 8)

That is just part of the fuse box isn't it not an addition to it.. :? I thought you were both referring to an extra piece that fitted behind it.

Ron.

It seems that many cars don't have this, hence my post. It isn't shown as a separate part in the Rover parts catalogue. I can only assume that a number of cars have lost this during their lives when they have been worked on.
