Fuel Tank wanted for P6B

Finally found the cause as to why my fuel filter was constantly getting gunged up, my fuel tank has a lot of muck/rust within it, which is getting sucked up & clogging up my fuel lines & filter. The answer, is for me to obtain another fuel tank which is clean, no rust, apply some sealant and fit it to my car.

If no one has a fuel tank they don't want, then the only way out of this, is for me to remove the said tank, empty out the petrol & clean out all the muck/rust, and then to purchase some sealant before putting the tank back!!

So please, if anyone has a tank going spare that would fit my 3500 v8 series 2, then I would be very grateful if they would reserve it for me. I would be prepared to collect within a 50 mile radius or post it to me & i'll reimburse you the postage costs! Can't say fairer than that!

Thanks

Paul :)

I've got one in my NADA car that needs to come out as I'm putting a flat aluminium one in the bottom.. I'm up by Luton if that's close enough?

NADA cars are left hand drive Chris, so the filler will be on the wrong side!

The filler was always on the left regardless of the driving side.

I don't think so Demetris

Hi quattro,
unfortunately you are wrong, i have NADA's as you know. the tank is exactly the same and the fuel filler comes up in the same place.

Yeah I know -

It was really on acccount of the date today, that I just wanted to say something very silly and see what sort of reaction I got.

Doesn't seem quite so funny now though :|

I had an American spec Suzuki GS1100 once and told people that it was great to ride even though it was left hand drive

I'll get my coat

Richard, my TC is LHD, i should know! :D

At least in series 1 cars, (I don't know about series 2) Rover did not get into the trouble to change the side of the bonnet release cable, causing head scratching to the naive (?) owners. I cannot imagine that would do something for the fuel filler. And to be honest, nobody (manufacturer) does.

I think it was Chris York (?) who created an additional fuel filler at the RH for his LPG system, you know, XJ6 style.

Obviously, if there were P6s with RH fuel fillers his life would have been a lot more easier.

Made me laugh  (hope that helps your pain after everyone thought you were serious)

To Chrisw,

Thanks for the offer Chris, but Luton is just that bit too far for me, as I live right down on the south coast. If I were to turn left from my house & walk south for 1/2 mile, I would get my feet wet in the English Channel!

Thanks again for the offer.

I did wonder if my request might spark a few "April Fools Day" offers....! I wasn't dissapointed..!

In regards to left/right hand options, I have finally swapped the choke and petrol reserve cables for ease in my LHD c ar
