I know it probably will NOT make a difference as the government ask us what we want, then do what they want, but it can't harm to try.

When the vat was dropped to help get us out of the recession the bankers and the government threw us into, they increased the duty on petrol to stop the general masses getting cheaper petrol. Companies who were vat regsitered actually lost money here, as they couldn't claim so much back on their vat returns! (helping small businesses by putting their costs up?)
Now vat has gone up again, the duty was NOT reduced, just increased again and again.
