Front valance ??

Hey guys and gals,

Just a quick question, will a 2000 or 2200 front valance fit on the 3500 v8 cars? I'm not bothered about bumper positions, I just want to know if it will fit around the engine bits.

Thanks
Rich :)

Had you been planning to put a 2000/2200 on your V8 to do away with the air intake box below the front bumper? What is plan B?

Speaking purely from what I have read rather than experience, the V8's had the modified valence with the air intake not just to accomodate the larger radiator but also the front crossmember which had to be moved forward.

There is a bolt on cross member which would foul the 2000 valance, but I have heard of people just not fitting it anyway.

Exactly - I can't see what function it serves - except perhaps to catch the radiator when it's structure collapses! It certainly doesn't contribute to the structure of the base unit.

Yes basically I didn't want the 'snout' as I'm customising mine and am removing the bumpers. I'll have to have a rethink and see what other options I have. Other than modifying the v8 valence to lower the front stance of the car, I can't think what else to do.

How about what I did to Lucky?

It's one of those that's subtle but really does work aesthetically. It looks like it was made that way in the first place.

Rich.

Would it be possible to make a valence of your own design from scratch or even modify a 4-cyl/V8 valence? Depends how good/keen you are at metal bashing?
