front seat spacers

hi there, could someone possibly tell me where the spacers go for the front seats please.
I have reoved the seats along time ago and now that they are going back in, i have not recorded where they go. i have 2 smaller spaces and two bigger (longer) spacers.
They seem to be in one bag so are they for the drivers seat, front or the rear or.......? thanks in advance

They may not all have been fitted, you use them to adjust the seat rake as desired. According to my handbook some are supplied in the tool rollspacers 001.jpgl roll.

Under the runners on the front seats, you have a piece of carpet.

In the carpet will be a hole at each end. Into each hole, you'll have what looks like a washer with a dip in it. The spacer then fits into that.

You should only use one spacer per corner - either the small or the long ones, depending on the height that you need.

hey thankyou for the information guys, im a bit worried though "quattro" that you say they should all be the same size because there is 4 spacers of about 10mm and two about 20mm , which kinda says (because i put the relevant fixtures in seperate bags) that the seat was higher at the front (or maybe the back)?
Wait a minute... i reread the manual above and it says to use combination of spacers,ok, but do i need to remove the seat from the runners first?

4 x 10mm and 2 x 20mm would suggest that you are using a spacer of 20mm, just doubled up at one end, which would work ok. Your post says you had 2 of each :)

I understand the idea of the spacers is to both alter the height of the drivers seat ( equal spacers front and rear ) or to alter the rake of the cushion ( More at front than rear or vice versa) . Because I have long legs I raise the front to offer more support for my thigh.

I must admit, I didn't know that :)

just. removed my seats ready for carpet and found drivers set had. 4 tall spacers passenger none! though aware spacers should all be sam size I cant se it making a lot of difference if we mix eg 2 tall at front of seat an shorter at Rear to get a nice rake angle. though would make sure bolts are tight! and recheck after say 2 months. having said that I have ordered a bit of stainless steel bar ( coming next week) to make new spacers up from and will I think fit taller to both seats ( 8 spacers) not a bad job getting seats out ,not sure so easy putting back lol

Hi has anybody the dimensions of the spacers i'm want to fit some for myself as i have very limited movement in my left knee and have to drive an automatic , i have a small lathe so could make some up .
Thanks

Well, the bore needs to accomodate a 1/4-28 bolt. So I'd make that 6.5mm ID. From memory the OD is around .75"-.875" and height can be whatever you prefer. If you do the job I would suggest sourcing an allen head bolt for the seats as they can be a pain to refit with the standard hex heads.

The proper screw is has a #3 posidrive head, and a cone point. There are two lengths, 1 3/8" & 1 7/8". There are actually three spacers sizes, 1/8", 1/4" & 3/4". You do not have to use the same size front & back on the seat, that way you can adjust the seat cushion rake.

Button head socket screws (aka allen) would be the sensible substitute for the screws. You're not going to find cone point screws anywhere though, but that's a nicety not a requirement.
