First test run of the year

John, that reminded me of a car I saw on Friday, a Ferrari F430 Spyder with the roof down and several 8 foot lengths of 2x4 sticking out - I wish I'd had a camera.

The overiders are just a little bit out. If you look at Daves which had an original rover tow bar fitted, the overider is more to the right of the 3500 badge where on Johns car it sits below the left side.

Did you say that you were trial fitting a tow bar? Do you know that the aftermarket ones are straight and the Rover ones are angled out at the ends to allow for the overiders.

Nice looking car you have there.

Colin

Early Rover OE ones were straight too Colin! They didn't have to cope with over-riders till '68 of course.

Chris

Hi Colin, It is a straight type tow bar and came off an earlier 2000, the over riders are positioned so the nearside one did not get too close to the exhaust diffuser.
Chris, Regarding the Ferrari, cars are to be used, if not collect china or furniture. Back in 1974 when I was a callow youth, a friend of mine gave me a lift into the village in a mint 1928? Mcloughlin Buick with the top down, he had been to collect some wood for his dad, who had sent him in the Buick because it could have a full sheet of 1/2 plywood roped onto the passenger side running board/wings. He had to stand up at junctions to see over the 4' high board. Happy Days! He still has the Buick but it looks a bit sadder now.
