Door lock swap?

Afternoon, is it possible to swap the front door locks from side to side? Arthuy has very kindly supplied a key to fit the boot, petrol and passenger door so I would like to move the "odd" drivers lock to the other side.

I didn't think they would interchange, and a quick look in the parts book would tend to confirm that as there are two different part numbers for LH & RH.

The door lock is an FR series and the boot is an FS series key. If the FS key works in the door it is probably just worn which isnt great.

I sent you a link to some one who can supplies these to your code. I just got one and it works fine.

You can modify the locks to take one key. The series 2 cars have different part numbers due to being handed to suit the door latches but can be altered to suit either side.

The locking mechanism is handed left and right however the bit the key goes into is essentially the same except the part on the back is on the opposite way around. Getting the little wires out that hold them in is a pain when the window glass is fitted but it isn't life threatening. When putting them back in you need to push them through at the same angle they were sitting when youtook them out - they have a small curve in them.
