I remember this puzzle from long long ago

OCROSS
+ROADS
DANGER

I can't remember how to solve it, so I will be having a go too 8)

All of the letters represent numbers which, when substitued will make the sum work. i.e. if the S happens to b '1' (it isn't btw) then all the S's will be '1'

Have fun with that one 8)

Wow, that was quite a long hit and miss!

"Cross" and "Roads" are 5 letter words, whereas "Danger" is a 6 letter word, therefore C+R >= 10 and so D = 1

R must be an even number. (R = S +S = 2S)

The answer I have have gotten is...

C = 9, R = 6, O = 2, S = 3, A = 5, D = 1, N = 8, G = 7, and E = 4.

9 6 2 3 3
+ 6 2 5 1 3
=1 5 8 7 4 6

Phew!!! :p

Hello Richard,

That was an interesting brain puzzle, be like working at Bletchley Park.

Darth was too quick for me... :)

How are you both going with my "rectangle in the triangle"?

Ron.

Well done Darth

Sorry for the delay, I have been gardening and scraping off underseal and my arms ache a lot now :(

I bet that took you a while LOL

There were some more of those puzzles, I will have to search the further recesses and see if I can remember any more.

Haven't done the triangle thingy yet Ron, been a bit busy.

I thought you would have liked that Cross roads puzzzle as it does have your name in it.

Richard
