Broken heater control arms making me boil

Hi all. Seems like I've run into a problem faced by a few of us in the past in that the cast metal alloy pieces between the end of my heater control rods and the heater control levers have broken, or to be more accurate one broke then I broke the other one trying to rig up a fix for the first one. AARRRGH. I've come to the conclusion now after many hours of head scratching and experimentation involving jubilee clips, cable ties, bits of string and rubber bands, probably the only fix is to replace the originals like for like. I don't suppose anybody's got a couple knocking around somewhere that they would like to sell or donate to a good cause. Seems a shame to get into changing the whole unit just for a couple of bits of metal.IMG_0051.jpg

Pretty sure that I have a spare heater box, that's in fairly good condition. Kick me a PM or email if it's of any use?

How long can you wait? I have several, but I'm over here in Canada.

Hi Vern thanks for getting in touch. Believe me I can wait however long it takes. I've just spent the third day on my back head under the dash it's starting to get embarrassing with the neighbours. Tell me what you require i.e.payment postage info whatever and its yours.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. A guy in Canada reckons he might have the bits needed but I'm kinda thinking I would just as soon have the backup of a spare heater box complete as those bits snap so easy trying to manhandle them. If you defo have a working box with those lever mounts attached let me know and we can talk further. Many thanks.

Do you want just the short rod that's broken or a complete set? I should be able to get it all ready to go this weekend.

Yooperates the flapn
Hi Vern. I need the cast metal pieces between the ends of the adjustment levers that poke through the slots in the dash and the bit that attaches to the end of the rods on the splines that operate the flaps for both levers flow distribution and temperature. I actually borrowed the photo in my post from an old thread. That's why it only shows one piece broken. Many thanks.

Did youget this sorted. I was offered a free box (99% rust) which has those rods on it. I can get it and send you the bits if still needed.

Hi guys. Sorry I didn't get to reply yesterday, battling raging toothache as we speak but I'm pleased to confirm Vern's wonderful rods have been installed in my original now refurbished box and are working a treat. YEHHHHH !. Happy days.
