Hi,

This is on a Jensen interceptor. Wonder if its a standard or bespoke.... Would work great on a P6 but probably not in 17" form.

Sorry, no idea what make, but I like it. I like it a lot! I reckon that in a 17" would look superb on a lowered P6!
Where did you find the photo?

I thought it looked like a Magnum 500 and I also reckon it would be worth breaking the angle grinder out so the 17's would fit. :D

A while ago, i bought a set of Jensen alloys from a chap who was building an Interceptor with a big engine, heavily modified suspension and brakes. He sold the standard alloys as he wanted to fit 17" wheels to make room for the bigger brakes. It seems these 17" were manufactered by a Jensen part supplier.

Never mind about the wheels (as nice as they are) here's another type of wheel nut I have to investigate  , they don't look like the OEM Jensen alloy (aluminium) nut, they look like a steel nut, maybe with a conical seat??? The plot thickens

I suspect after your thorough and arduous investigations of P6 Wheel Nuts that a PhD paper could be written and peer reviewed for acceptance toward your Mechanical Sciences doctorate.

Hmmm? "Dr Scott" I like the sound of that, my investigations will either get me a doctorate or fast tracked into the Rover Lunatic Asylum, I think they better get a bed ready.

They are I believe an american copy of the original Magnum 500. They are not kelsey hayes ones though, If you google search for rostyle or Kelsey hays magnum 500 their website will come up

They are bespoke. I did some searching on the web to find out what wheels these are, as I'm looking for a alternative for the original rostyles. The image came from http://www.jensen-sales.com/general-gallery/ and on there the imbedded image caption says; "Bespoke 17″ JIA alloys to replace Rostyle type wheels." I'm guessing it'll cost some serious money to have wheels like this made..

Hi Martin,

They could be as you say Jeep wheels. Those in the link though have the incorrect PCD and the spoke pattern is different.

If the owner is indeed a forum member as Harvey suggests, then I hope that they will pop along and kindly provide some details. :)

Ron.

Canterbury tyres sell them: www.canterburytyres.com.au they are in Melbourne, not in Rover PCD though. I suspect the maker is one of the
Aus alloy firms and they could drill them to the right PCD. Not sure how you would deal with backspace issues though.

Speaking of wheels, I came across this photo. Does anyone know what wheels they could be?

Ron.

That is the Toulmin Motors turbocharged 4.2 V8. I have a feeling the wheels are on adapters, the face is too flat and the tyres very close to the bodywork.
