Hi all,
I've scoured differnet forums and book of faces and I thought I'd make a list of everything that I'll need to swap in a 4.6 into my p6b. Ron and others, can you chime in with your experiences and thoughts on what I'll need?
Engine:
4.6 block - top hat linered
heads - I have SD1 heads and 4.6 heads. Which would be better to have ported etc?
Crank/Rods/Pistons - haven't decided. Probably standard crank, maybe standard rods? ARP bolts
Intake - Offenhauser
Carb - AFB/Edelbrock
Ignition - ? P6b distributor with Illuminition kit?
Front timing cover - SD1 or P6b. Any thoughts on which is better?
Sump - p6b
Camshaft - no idea. Can I use the 4.6 one or will I need to use something else if I run a distributor?
Flywheel - I have a 3500S one
Clutch - ?/I have a 3500S one but I don't think it will work with the W58
Master - brake?
Slave - have a Dellow one to suit.
Gearbox - W58
Shifter and shifter housing
Speedo cable - custom?
Tailshaft - custom
Down the track:
Complete Jag IRS with XJ40 outboard brakes
Complete front jag IFS or just Jag brakes.
Have but not fitted:
Uprated sway bar
Hit me with your feedback and ideas. What worked for you or didn't work?
The original motor is going on an engine stand and I have access to a few dead p6bs as well.
