1969 rover series one for spares ? on ebay

This chap is a forum member.

Eh up lad, why are you scrapping it?

Not my place to name names, so I won't.

Richard

Hmm. Looks like ex-poster & vendor of the steering wheel are one & the same after all, so loyalty explained.
Not much loyalty to a servicable S1 P6 though which by the way, appears to have an S2 dashboard retro-fitted. Or is it original?

IIRC???
I think,? I asked the original Ebay seller about this car a while back,as I believed at the time it showed signs of being a ringer!!
IE, Round dash and if memory serves, they stated that the bat is in boot! "like all of them".
That would explain why the vehicle has now been scrapped as it cannot be sold as a genuine S1!
Maybe it will also end up in the bin? A big bin called a skip!!

Hi all the car in question is being scrapped because its ID is bit unsure and it is not all it seems even thou its sound and drives well its all a bit odd to sell on and so ive decided to scrap it.
it also has the series two dash which i hate , not the strip speed it should have and its battery is in the front not back , it also has some extra plates in the engine bay for upgrades its had at a engine specialist so the engine is coming out.
will be fitted to mine

marcus
and as for the steering wheel was listed for a friend but wish i had nt now

Marcus, Don't feel embarrased about the posts here or on the steering wheel. Tell us what actually happened, as you have above, and all the confusion evaporates. I, for one, think you are doing the decent and honourable thing re the brown car. We are all learning about P6's. We woldn't need to visit this forum if we already knew eveything there is to know! The steering wheel remains interesting. Even if it is a refurbished one, and not NOS, it is still a nice thing to have and use. I certainly don't know that there is not a wrinkle in the space time P6 continuum that hides an original unstiched P6 wheel like this! Tell everything you know even on Ebay and people are at best intrigued at worst informed.

All the best

Chris

Well thanks for that ,i as any off you know that have met me am i p6 lover and have my rosie which i love and have just finished a 7 month rebuild on the body and still much more to do,
but some cars are best used for parts and that is one of them or i would restore her myself but i wont sell anything thats not right or i think wrong .
i only list parts that i know work or are in good condition , i also give parts away to many people to save what are great and enjoyable cars that i think are just getting more nicer and stunning witha age .
anyway spring is here and we can get our cars out to play
regards to you all
marcus

Cheers Marcus

I didn't think you would scrap it without good reason 8)

I haven't actually met you (you went out when I came over  ) but I can assure everyone that you are a P6 lover through and through.
