since replacing gear lever gaiter with after market one i find that due to the thicker rubber on new one i have to hold in reverse without gaiter on there is no problem -positives re new gaiter are that due to it being thicker there is no noise or vibration through lever -so check if yours has...

i found that it was difficult due to lack of dexterity i found it difficult to tighten pinch screw-my solution was to put a blob of silicon on lever then offer it up wait to go off - no problems since -andy
