    rear suspension help

Ive only noticed its lower in one corner than the others since having the car sat on drive up car ramps over the winter. Im thinking its more of a sagging shock than a broken spring as you cant hear any knocking or clonking either when you drive or when standing next to the car and pushing on...

    rear suspension help

Having finally sorted the oil leak on my P6, I took it for a spin round the block at the weekend and discovered it looks lower on the drivers side rear corner than the passenger side. It seems to be abit more 'wollowy' on the road too. Im pretty new to the P6, but when the car was restored by...

    upgraded oil pump fitting issue

Turns out even the upgraded gears were too tight in the timing cover too so just went back to the original ones and cut the long bolts down so we could use 10mm sockets and spanners. Seems oil tight so far!

    upgraded oil pump fitting issue

Hi guys, got an upgraded oil pump kit to fit onto my V8 to hopefully cure a leak and improve the oil system. But Im having a problem with the longer bolts that came with the kit. One that goes in behind the oil filter housing is too long to physically fit into the hole as you are coming in at an...

    1972 Modified Rover P6 with 3.9 V8 Manual

Possibly deciding to sell my modified P6 Rover V8, only as I may have found a car that Ive always wanted and wouldnt be able to keep both! Full sale will depend on weather I actually purchase the other car or not as I haven't viewed it yet, but thought I would list this P6 now to gauge possible...

    Temp gauge problems

Hope the pic makes more sense, the earth wire is green, and the other one (yellow with black heat shrink on) is the one with the spade connector on it. Just assumed that was the one that goes on the sensor as the connector fits thats all but will try them the other way round. I have changed the...

    electronic speedometers

How do you get them re-calebrated then? I think the sender cable has come off when we was last underneath it as I was driving home from the workshop when the speedo just fell back to 0. I havent been underneath since and have just used a satnav to see what speeds Im doing at what revs and...

    electronic speedometers

Hi guys, since my P6 has been modified with a 3.9 V8, an SD1 manual gearbox, a 2000 diff and bigger wheels, the original speedometer (circular one) was way out and has now stopped working all together, Im looking for an electronic replacement. But Im a little lost as to which are best and they...

    Handbrake sticking on

Hi guys, just wondered if there are any hints or tips as to help my issue with the handbrake sticking on my P6. Had a look at it on my mates ramps yesterday (they do look a very intricate system I must say!) but we managed to free them off and re-grease it and thought we got it returning...

    '72 P6 custom

Thanks guys, yeah he did do alot of cutting and chopping to make the wheels fit, and yes they are Jeep wheels. Im not sure the finer details as I havent had it up on ramps. Although I do need to figure out where the oil leak is coming from on the engine so when I get it on the ramps, I'll take...

heaters not working, only bowling cold

Arr right, that explains that then. Looks like the blowers are coming on and going off of their own accord too so the wiring needs looking at for sure. At least I will have warmish feet now then! I am right in thinking there are only 3 speeds to the blowers, off, half and full? I realise the...

heaters not working, only bowling cold

Been having a play round with the leavers and things, managed to get warm air to come into the cabin but only by your feet. If you open the face vents at the same time, they blow cold. And I cant seem to get anything onto the screen. That was my most important position really to help with...

heaters not working, only bowling cold

Cool, cheers will have a look over the weekend. Just had a quick glance under the bonnet and Ive got the pipe from the front of the engine (from the waterpump) going to the top of the matrix, and the water pipe from the back of the engine going to the bottom of the matrix. Is that right?

heaters not working, only bowling cold

Hi guys, need some assistance on finding out why the Heaters in my P6 only blow cold. It was originally a 3500 V8 but its now been fitted with a 3.9 V8 from a Range Rover. The guy who built it said he didnt touch the heaters as he built it in the summer and didnt need them. But both pipes that...
