Thanks to you all, and ( more or less ) goodbye

I agree with many of the speakers here. This is the Classic Rover forum which to me (personal opinion), means all Rovers upto and including SD1 and the non Honda-rebadged ones. So the 75 would qualify for me too. The P5 was the one that drew my attention to the brand in the first place and...

Placing of back bumper overriders ?

LOL yes, I mean 1972. Someone told me that when the car is equipped with a tow-bar, the spacing is wider...

Placing of back bumper overriders ?

Where should they be on a P6 1962 3500? I see pictures with them placed slightly inward (next to them almost) from the tail lights but also much more inward. Couldn't find anything in Taylors' book ..

    When does a P6 stops being a P6?

I used two drive mine 90 km's / day for 6 years, mostly motorway. I updated some bits for reliability and safety. Halogen lights, Luminition and a Kenlowe fan, larger capacity battery. Oh and I converted it to LPG, on which it ran great. These are all small mods that are reversible so I didn't...

    When does a P6 stops being a P6?

What gets my eye on this forum and in the different Facebook groups, is that most P6 addicts don't take a Taliban view to originality. Some people prefer originality, others put in a different engine, other gearbox, modify almost everything, paint them in non-original colours, turn a S1 in a S2...

    New Member - London - P6, a Practical Classic!

Welcome! Good thing you seem to have overcome the "safety concerns" some people have with classics in connection with especially children. I think you've made a good choice. The Volvo DOES look like a hearse and a propeer P6 is actually a very safe car, both passive but (more important) active...

Hey Eise, Welcome. You'll find this a friendly forum and the amount of knowledge here is awesome! Did you have your Rover checked by Jan Waanders by any chance? I'm in Amsterdam, if you need a good garage there I can recommend Minor Motorcars wholeheartedly. Best regards, Bas

Hi Stina. I sold my first one "mrs. Becker" for the same reasons and I'm still regretting it. Your's is a lovely motor so if I were you, I would reconsider. Or suspend her and keep her at a proper place until better times arrive. That's what I should have done, with hindsight. However, as I'm...
