Placing of back bumper overriders ?

Where should they be on a P6 1962 3500?
I see pictures with them placed slightly inward (next to them almost) from the tail lights but also much more inward. Couldn't find anything in Taylors' book ..

I presume you mean 1972? Looking at old brochures and publicity shots, they should be lined up with the centre of the 'Rover' and '3500' plate badges on the bootlid.
 
LOL yes, I mean 1972. Someone told me that when the car is equipped with a tow-bar, the spacing is wider...
 
Not exactly. There were at least a couple of different factory towbars, one for overrider equipped cars and one not. If you have the wrong towbar the overriders won't fit in the right place and have to be moved out a bit. Also if you have an Estoura the overrider can obstruct the tailgate and may need to be moved.
 
Fit them wherever they look right on your car, :wink: depending if you have a towbar or fog lights mounted using the 2 lower holes on it.
