Another vote for the tracking here.
Too much toe in will cause this problem as others have said, I had this problem (quite severely) when my tracking was out. Got it tracked and it fixed the problem instantly.
If you imagine an exaggerated tracking problem, both wheels turned inwards slightly...
That's really strange about the numberplate lamps.
Years ago I found a pair of those on a Datsun at the scrapyard and fitted them to my customized P6
thinking I was being original!.... But looks like instead I was unwittingly aping the export model like yours!
Front panel for sale:
Slight surface rust as you can see from the pics but it is only light and this front panel is in excellent overall condition.
No dents, no rot, just a repaint required.
Collection only I'm afraid!
Thanks!
Hi Robin, welcome to the forum!
Yes I still have the boot mount and it is complete with the strengthening web, I'm glad you can make use of it. I've yet to remove it but I can supply some pictures as it is now if you like.
All the best, Steve
Yes Ebay's a funny old game isn't it!
International postage is the key here I think. This set is going off to Australia and I imagine it's hard to find a set out there and even harder to get anyone to post them from the UK! I don't see what the fuss with international postage on Ebay is about...
Sorry Twinplenum3500s I didn't get to take a picture of the front panel yet, I will do it without fail tomorrow!
Headrests now on Ebay guys. Am I way off with the price or is that about the going rate? I only based the price on what I'd seen others make on Ebay so don't mind being told...
I've realised that in order to get my P6 roadworthy I'm going to have to sell parts off the car I can do without to buy the parts I desperately need. So, since I don't mind which 80's alien my headrests resemble I'm offering these up for sale to afford my new tyres/brake components:

Not really answering your question here but I always think, isn't it a little unfair to expect a 40 year old car's speedometer to be accurate to within 3 or 4mph? The speedometers accuracy isn't part of an MOT test so it will more than likely never be checked after leaving the factory.
I mean...
Hi guys, I'm trying to find a good supplier of suspension bushes for the P6. I doubt my budget will stretch to Polyurethene alternatives so is there anywhere still selling direct replacements? Somewhere online maybe?
I need most of the bushes replacing on my car by the looks of it. Thanks!
Well the plans are for the moment to use it as a drag/street car with mild modifications for now so the flip front is more just for show at this stage, but I do intend to space frame the front in the distant future so it's kind of planning ahead :)
Hi guys!
I'm looking for a pair of fibreglass front wings. Sounds silly to want fibreglass over steel but I'm making a flip-front for my project. I know they're unpopular so I really don't want to pay a lot for them, condition unimportant.
Also, I need a Holley or similar carb & inlet manifold...
My brother saw it at the Ace Cafe at the weekend:
Turbo'd by all accounts, but i'm, not sure weather it's a turbocharger strapped to the V8, a T16 or something else entirely! Would like to know more about it, I think it looks great 8)
Nothing to do with me, but looks like this P6 is heading for trouble if no one intervenes:

Re: 1972 Rover P6 3500- Rescued! (It's Alive!)
Well, a small update and a change of direction has been decided upon.
Firstly I drove the P6 for the first time (by which I mean, reversed it in my workshop carpark and drove it into a different parking space) and it was the first time I realised...
Good point on the numberplate lights. Wonder if there's some age related rule that means it doesn't require them?
I smoothed the back end of my old P6 and sunk the numberplate into the rear valence, running it without a bumper. It looked okay actually.
Still have that back panel somewhere...
.
Yes that's the one guys, thanks!
I've only ever seen the back end of it, but it looks like its got some interesting restyling going on with the front wings which I really wanted a closer look at. :)
Hey guys, anyone have a pic of a P6 that crops up now and then- it's a blue series 1 v8 with flames painted down the side?
I've seen a few pics of it elsewhere but I can't find them now. If I remember correctly it had some interesting modifications. Is it still around? Anyone on here wn it even...
