    Cooling Project

Update on my original post : - Have gone with a Kenlowe 13" High speed fan. Managed to fit this without any mods - required removal of the radiator. It's a tight fit but does actually fit and operate ok. Draws a lot of current and had to update fuses etc. On the advice of the guys in Kenlowe I...

    Cooling Project

Thanks rockdemon and Peter...... Going to go with standard coolant. The glycol should be fine. Also - Good point on the expansion tank . I don't really have anywhere to put one as the previous minder put the fuel pump and associated bits where most people seem to put the tank. Going to try and...

    Cooling Project

Thanks Ethelred This seems to be the best route to take ok. I had an MGB GT V8 prior to the P6 and I tried a few different combinations of fan - the kenlowe was the best. I was curious to see had there been any other options / manufacturers come to the fore in recent years. This is good to...

    Cooling Project

Don't suppose you know where I could get my hands on some of that, do you? It's probably cheaper than 20/50 I would probably share your view on the Evans coolant, I'm just curious to see if anyone has tried it in the P6 and what the result was.

    Cooling Project

You know when you start a job thinking its an easy one and will only involve skinning one knuckle ? Well.......When I got my P6V8, it had an old Kenlowe fan installed on a bracket in front of the rad. It wasn't in the best of condition and appeared to be drawing a silly amount of current so I...

    Transmission Fluid Leak

Looks like there was an issue with the inhibitor switch. It had somehow managed to split along the threads (maybe as it was being fitted) so quite an easy fix this time around with a replacement unit. Thanks for your help on this one .....

    Transmission Fluid Leak

It's a 35 then - thank you Yes it's threaded directly into the casing. Will reinstall with the tape and check the sealing washer Thanks for your help

    Transmission Fluid Leak

Harvey, The oil is dripping down the threads of the inhibitor switch. I've either the wrong switch, it was not fitted correctly, or it's faulty. Once I can get my hands on the correct transmission fluid, I'm going to top it up and get it over to the guy who did the work for me. (Provided I don't...

    Transmission Fluid Leak

Harvey, I dipped it and you are correct, the level was way too high. Could I be a pain and ask you to explain what is going on here? What would cause this as a one off (if it is one off?) Conor

    Transmission Fluid Leak

Hi Harvey The car has been standing for 3 weeks. I had the work done a week before that and the car was starting, running and driving perfectly after the work was done and before I parked it up. Will try wiggling the lever while starting to see if that gets it going so I can at least dip the...

    Transmission Fluid Leak

I moved the car out of the shed today only to find a large pool of automatic transmission fluid on the floor. I had the inhibitor switch replaced recently and am wondering if the two things are connected. I tried starting the car to dip the ATF but will not turn over - inhibitor switch again?

    Stalling when in traffic

Hi all, I'm new to the forum (see my post in the Welcome section if interested). I have a small problem with my engine stalling when I've been in traffic for a while. The engine is not overheating - the needle sits comfortably at normal, there is no fluid being dumped (which give me some...
