Hi,
i would recommend to check the rubber hose connection between the filler cap tube and the tank itself. Mine was done and when i filled it up to a certain level, little amounts of fuel were leaking out behind the cover in the trunk. Hard to spot but worth checking out, because even little...
Hello fellow Rover drivers,
i recently replaced a bearing on my alternator because it was making funny noises. It is ok now, but i would like to store a replacement alternator in the spares box for bigger trips just to be on the safe side...
My car is a 3500 V8 with the first generation (short)...
Hello,
just a final update on my steering woes: I had to replace the replacement PAS box with my original box. The "blocking issue" was not curable by adjustment from the outside. No idea what went wrong, but on the other hand i never drove the car where the replacement box was in before.
We...
Hello,
i have to warm up this thread because i had a little frightening moment today with my new PAS box. I noticed some hesitation when you drive very slowly and you have to turn large angles from left to right or vice versa over the middle position during the last days. You have to apply some...
That bleeding procedure sounds easy enough even for me. Since i have driven the car for a couple of kilometers now i am sure that there is nothing seriously wrong but it is just a matter of small adjustments to make everything feel "right" to me. Thank you all for your help.

Thnak you for that information. I will check this.
Another reason for the funny feeling may be air in the system.
What is the right procedure to vent the pas box? Can somebody share some best practices doing this, please?

Hello fellow Rover drivers,
i had my PAS box completely overhauled (new seals all around) by my friend, who is a professional car mechanic. The old box was leaking fluid all over the place before, we overhauled a second box and replaced it. Now the steering feels quite different than before and...
Hi Mike,
will be a typical winter job but i am in the same situation like you: a good replacement box sits here but will certainly be overhauled with new seals before beeing fitted.
I will post something when i know how it worked out....

Hello,
can somebody point out a good supplier for the right shocks and springs in Europe? I am not quite sure about the right specification for these...
CU Olaf
Thank you Chris, i contacted Mark and he will have that seal kit in stock again soon. I will order one from him....
That is one point done from the job list :-)
Although the other questions regarding types of box and necessary repair time are still pending....

Hello fellow Rover drivers,
with the winter coming i will try to take care of my badly leaking PAS box on my 1971 3500 Auto. I have a few questions regarding the box:
As far as i understand the main culprits for a leaking box are the two O-rings on the upper and lower side of the box. Is it...
Hello,
just a quick and final update regarding the carpets:
Geronimo - i was able to save and keep the original carpet set. A big thank you goes to my local carpet cleaner. They managed to clean and dry the old carpets without destroying the really sensitive underfelting.
When i picked them up...
