i bought these a couple of years ago to put on my p6 but never got round to it....i sold my p6 in november so these are just gathering dust in the garage....i decided to polish them and started to strip one back...you can either carry on doing this or just spray it back with alloy wheel paint so...

having just leant on my passenger seat while installing the sound system and going right through the stitching i think the time has come replace my front seats!..did anyone ever find out if rover 45 ones fitted?...if they do i may have some ET headrests for sale!

well it did nearly hit me in the face when i opened the bonnet! Washed the front wing straight away,does ps fluid have the same charming paint stripping properties as brake fluid?

now why didnt i think of that...i didnt see a big orange bloke come and slap me round the ears...these p6`s are just full of suprises!!

left it half an hour and the fluid was normal??not frothy anymore...left car running for a bit and moved the steering back and forth...nothing...everything was fine???...the projectile frothy stuff happened within 30 seconds of starting up a very cold car...not been started since sat....only...

mines noisey when i first start up too...just got her out of the garage and decided to see if the fluid was low...was greeted by a 4 foot high fountain of frothy orange fluid shooting out the relief valve...now i know thats not meant to happen!! the power steering fluid is bright orange...

redex do loads of different stuff,the one you pour in the carbs and produces white smoke is for cleaning carbon deposits from the cylinder head They do some petrol additives too,a red one that is just lead replacement and a yellowy one that is an octane booster too,dosage is entire bottle to 40...

was caught short with no octane booster the other day so had to get some from another motorfactor,all they had was redex,my car wont even tick over now and the power is on and off,its that bad i think i'm gona drain the tank,anyone else had the same problem?

i did think that looked most likely but knowing my luck it put oil in the ashtray or something! So i guess one carb is very rich and the other very weak,explains the rough running until it warms up

ok,everythings back together after the manifold paint fiasco,put some shell v power in plus redex lead sub and octane booster,thought i'd try the lift pins and ond makes the revs go up and the other makes the engine cut out? And wheres the mixture screw? Haynes only shows hu6 or do i need glasses?

the right side had the same effect too,although no where near as much of a contrast,i know i'm running very rich as £20 of fuel gets me 20 miles! If just one carb was running rich i guess it would be colder as is wasnt burning as effeciantly? Or is my o level physics letting me down?

got my freshley painted exhaust manifolds back on the car and put the pipe back on....getting ready to warm her up so can adjust the mixture and balance etc....only halfords very high temp paint isnt high temperature enough.....its gone from a lovely red to charcoal black!...have noticed its...

well my air filters were nearly as black as my spark plugs,also had leaking exhaust manifolds too! They are off and i'm just waiting for some bilt hamber deox to arrive then i can paint them,and with new gaskets,put it back together and see about tuning it,should be around thursday

so i can do the idle mixture but then the pin method is no good? Looks like i'm off to halfords to get a colourtune,7mpg is costing me a fortune!
