    Calton Wakes

If any friends with Rovers would like to attend our village fete, known as 'The Wakes' on Aug 27th this year they would be assured of a hearty welcome, several cups of tea and cakes and some good craic. At the moment for my stall I have a couple of classics (mine and a VW or two) stationary...

    Wiper switch problem

Deep joy for once!! :D Turned out to be a dogy connection in the wires under the motor itself. One of the 'copper's helmet' connectors had given up the ghost and a bit of emery paper and a new connector later I can see if it starts raining on my way to Elvaston Castle this weekend. Thanks for...

    Wiper switch problem

Thanks John. I think it looks like it may be the motor, but a session with a multimeter and a wiring diagram looks to be on the cards I'm afraid. :(

    Wiper switch problem

John that makes perfect sense - I thought that some sort of detent had maybe broken allowing my switch to turn so far but what you say makes me think otherwise. Once I've got the switch out so I can look at it I'm hoping that it's something simple like a loose connection; there is power getting...

    Wiper switch problem

I reckon I shall have to take out the switch because my guess is that something has become disconnected. The switch is one of Rover's early 'touchy feely' ones shaped like a 'T'. Is it possible to remove it from the front of the dash to check the wiring? Does the flange unscew from the...

    Wiper switch problem

I think I have a problem with my wiper switch on my 1965 2000. The two speed switch now only has one position before going sloppy and turning all the way round and the wipers don't come on. The washers work perfectly. Any suggestions gratefully received. Does this sound expensive or is it a...

    Speedometer - Mystery

Got to agree about the angle drive. My speedo worked up to 20mph then gave up, returning to zero and clicking. Cleaning the angle drive didn't work for me but a replacement wasn't dear and it now works fine.

    door mirrors

Hi Steve Mines a '65 series 1, and the holes are also 110mm apart. I think mine are Wingards, and they crop up on ebay at some very surprising prices. Have a look at the post about floppy mirrors - mine droop, but then if my mirrors were the only things that did I'd be a happy man! :p

    Detailing switches

Any suggestions for re-detailing the symbols on my Series 1 dashboard and column switches? The white detailing has worn away on some and needs re-doing. Is there a fine pen or something similar which would be appropriate and would be a long-lasting answer? It strikes me as being a fiddly job...

    London Tan front seats wanted

    London Tan front seats wanted

If anyone knows of a pair of front seats for a 1965 car in the colour London Tan - it's that almost orangey-brown shade - I'd be incredibly grateful. The rest of the interior is OK, although I'm working on the dash at the moment, but I don't think the original seats can be economically improved.
