works rally car specifications

I am very interested in building a rover 2000tc stages
rally car,i have never had any dealings with these cars
so i dont know if one could be tuned to give descent
power or not.Iwant to compete in the HRCR cliassic
stages championship so the car would have to be
built to ex works homologation spec of the time.
so does anybody know if a book on the works rally
rovers was ever published at the time and would these
cars be strong enough to stand the pace.Thanks

Hello merlin,
well Rover works rally cars campaigned fairly successfully during the sixties (a whole chapter in the James Taylor book) and a couple have been used in historic rallies within the last few years!
They have a very strong method of construction (the base unit) and the factory decided to use them with only minor mods. Good luck with this.
