Wolfrace vs Rostyle vs S-Trims

Evening guys,

I'd welcome feedback on the following:

I have a dilema in that I I have a set of 14" Wolfrace slotmags to suit a P6 unused and still in their original boxes (plus centres and nuts), a set of 14" P6 5-stud Rostyles recently media blasted and powder coated in sliver (similar to MGB wheels) and a good set of S-Trims, two of which need to go the fund the third.

This is not an advert, but would be keen to gauge opinion on which would be more likely to sell. They would be offered to members here before ebay etc.

For one I have always wanted slot mags on a car but remain undecided whether they actually suit the P6. The car remains stock albeit a slightly modified engine.

Much appreciated,
Simon

Well, the first thing I'd do is make sure the slot mags will actually fit. Just in case. I have seen a few P6s with Wolfraces but I'm not a huge fan of the look, they look a bit 'boy racer-ish' to me but on the other hand, it's always nice to see something a bit different and they are period.
The Rostyles are probably the most valuable and a very popular choice, though not being chrome may hurt their value a touch. Are they 5" or 5.5" ones?
The S hubcaps are common and not worth much, also not much use without a matching set of wheelnuts. I would opt for them over standard series 2 hubcaps but if I had anything else I'd go for that.
What year/model car are you fitting them on? Personally I would never fit S hubcaps to a series 1 (NADA 3500S aside), I would lean towards a series 2 for the Wolfraces but Rostyles look good on everything.
If I doubt, try them out. Put them on the car, take lots of photos and see what you like the best.

Me personally .
Ive not been a fan of wolf race rims . Too solid looking . Remind me of Mazda boy racers and Holden Torana's [Ozzy car ]- everyone wore them on these cars in the 70's .
Rostyles are on my car by choice and wouldn't part with them .
Ive had various style SD1 alloys on her for a bit , but preferred the S-Trims to these chunky rims .
S-trims are better looking than the standard ones .
You're a Lucky man to have a choice
Are you taking a poll ?
Hope this helps
Gerald

The Wolfraces are rubbish!
Post them to me and I'll dispose of them correctly for you.....
I quite like the look of them, but I'd go with the Rostyles first, then them.

Thanks all for your responses.

Both wolfrace and rostyles have taken some time to source (cost effectively) and hence reluctant to give up either one.
Described in one post as like a Nun wearing stilettos, I've liked the wolfrace wheels since boyhood, which are perhaps a tad brash for the refined P6. As far as handling and ET offset - I've read mixed reviews.

The rostyles will require black paint masking and time to make a good job out of them but they are a good base to start with. At least one other member has used the MGB styling approach to good effect on their 14" wheels.
As suggested, I'll fit, take photos and see from there. Two sets will be up for sale soon.

Thanks again
Simon

Perhaps you could take a few photos with the wheels propped up beside your car like I did with my Series 1 and Series 2 SD1 alloys. Get the angle right and they look almost like they're actually fitted, and it'll give you a good sense of what they'll do to the car's appearance. Then post 'em here and we'll help you decide.
