Why is it when selling your car you explain to the person over the phone what its like invite them to come and view it and take as many screwdrivers to it as they like to see what its like then have them drive down, then as soon as they get here get out of their car and just shove a note through their window say sorry not what I thought it was. not even having a look at it.

oh well his fuel bill not mine

anyway car avalible to view here if anyone is interested

Was it Trevor that came to see it? - if not he might be in touch.

BTW - you are not allowed to post for sale ads in here...

ooops sorry didn't mean to post ad

His name was trevor he turned up opposite side of road to me didn't even bother looking at car and shoved a note through my door reconing my car needs lots of work

I told him on the phone it wasn't concourse for the reserve i have on it its not going to be concourse money.

Not very polite in my opinion

Hiya Lord Rover.
I have to agree, not very polite at all,In fact it is damed right rude to do that!! :x
Even when you tell the truth about a cars condition, some people are just not happy!!
What the hell do they expect?
They are just as bad as those who lie about a cars condition and you have a wasted journey to view!
You commit to stay in waiting for them, just to be treated discourteously like that!
Shame on him!
He obviously just didnt like the look of it,as he cannot have x-ray eyes!
As he is obviously a known person,he should of know better!!
Not a great example of a true enthusiast!!

as I had said to him on the phone its not concourse but it was very solid only problem was with paint on bonnet.

even a knock on the door to say it wasn't the car for him would of been acceptable.

I think to be honest he probably found another car elsewhere he had his eye on and didn't have the nerve to say he had bought it.
but that is just my opinion.

I thought it was sold too till the winning bidder told me he wouldn't be able to pay me till mid december  this sale has been a nightmare causing me and the missus lots of stress, its not being sold for a fortune and certainly itsn't a wreck jesus tbh I dont even really want to sell her but we need to.

why is selling a car so hard???

I feel for you LR.
The Ebay buyer is probably just another messer who was too scared to commit to a deal, and wanted a way out of it without coming straight,as he had likely bought another car and had multiple bids to try and win at least one!
There are some weirdo's out there!
And especially those who think they know it all just by a quick glance at any make of car!
Best of luck with you sale, sounds like somewone will get a good deal!
Dave

thanks everyone for your words of support

one day I hope to save up to buy another P6 hopefully as nice as mine as I have really enjoyed owning this one

Cheers guys :D

Its sort of the wrong time of year to get a good price for any classic!!
Being just before xmas, and the recession not quite sorted out yet.
Try it on pistonheads and in the monthlies.
A few more good pics on the ad page would help as well, inside, under bonnet, side, rear views etc!
Better still if you somehow could hold onto it for another 5-6 months.

Nice car!

Tell me, wasn't this 3500 Auto featured on a Youtube video some 2 years back? That reg. no. rings in my mind, but I cannot seem to find the video any more! :-S

It was It was owned by a chap Called Paul sherwood who lives round my way and also a friend of my friend sold it to me.

He didn't want to sell it also as he was the one who restored it originally.

Oh, I see! Started to wonder if I was going loony in my not-that-old age! :p (33)

Is the video of it still on youtube, if you know?

I belive he took it off after he sold the car which is a pity.

Just hope whoever buys the car looks after it as I have loved owning it.

There are a lot of messers out there and that's why I hate selling cars , Like the ones that ring late at night offering £3000 for a £4000 car and get quite rude when you decline.
Hold on in there ,Someone will come along soon

Just had a very nice chap pop round to look at my car very friendly, and very knowledgeable about p6's he seems very keen going to let me know later tonight so fingers crossed.
