Which Fram Oil filter for the V8

Hi
My V8 currently has a Fram oil filter that looks rather small. The part number is PH25.
I also ahve in my box of spares a Fram PH2821A which is about half the size again (larger). There is another part number on top of the box (C143) if this means anything to you !

Can anybody tell me if the filter (the one fitted PH25) is correct and whether the spare one PH2821A is any good for the V8 application.
cheers

PH25 is the correct filter for the P5B/P6B as far as I know.

PH2821A Is listed as being for SD1 Diesel and some Range Rover Diesels, which I would imagine would mean it has a metric thread as those were VM engines.

PH25 is correct. I bought some on Sunday and have used them before.

The seller also had a filter for sale marked as '68-'76 V8 that was about an inch and a half taller but I don't think it will fit in a P6 so maybe it's a P5 one?

That would be the PH10 which is the same just greater capacity.

I am sure that I have seen them fitted to P6's.

I've got the PH10A listed for the V8 (on John Glinn's excellent Excel file) - pretty sure I've used one in the past. At the moment I've got a Coopers Z15A fitted.

That might be the one Colin, but I wasn't sure if it would clear the front valance. The bloke on the autojumble stall on Sunday had plenty of PH25's aswell so I got them.
