What classics have you owned??

Thought this might be fun, for everyoneto list the cars they've previously owned, that now may be considered "classic". Anyhoo, here's my list... Although they were mostly cheap runarounds when I owned them, not the semi desirable classics they are today.
1970 Triumph Toledo - My first car, paid £40 for it, was a complete heap.
1975 Triumph Dolomite 1500 with an 1850 engine and o/d box - very quick with the 1500 diff...
1974 Triumph 2000 Mk2, Paid £250 with 12mths tax & MOT, scrapped it after 1 year when it seriously failed its next one, but sold Engine & box for £250
Ford Capri Mk2 (I had 2 of these, 1 1974, 1 1977)
1982 Ford Capri Mk3
1975 Ford Granada Mk1 Ghia 3L Coupe (Loved this one, drove it for over 5 years)
1960 Ford Anglia 105E (Still have this one, been in our family since 1974) - My Father has owned 7 of them in the past
1976 Pontiac Trans-Am 6.6 V8 manual - great on the motorway, 65mph=1100rpm=22mpg!!
1971 Pontiac Firebird 6.6 V8 (Still have this one too.)
1983 Escort XR3i (Pushing my luck at calling this classic, but they're just beginning to be)
1988 Opel Manta berlinetta
And now of course, my beloved 1971 Rover P6 3500. All in all not bad since I only passed my driving test at 18 in 1986...

What about you lot?

Nice one :D Heres my little list, although the majority are from my favourite decade (1980's) I do appologise for the Mini-Metro's

I started off at the age of 13 with a 1984 Fiat 126 'FSM'
1983 Ford Sierra 2.0GL
Next came a succession of Mini-Metro's... I still have a soft spot for them...
1985 Mini-Metro 1.3L Five Door
1984 Mini-Metro 1.3 Moritz Limited Edition (Extremley rare now and the front seats live on in my mates Mini)
1983 Mk3 Ford Escort 1.3L (His name was Trevor and he was Beige)
1985 Mk3 Ford Capri 1.6 LS (Had to sell this due to being made redundant... a massive regret which is why I own another Capri)
1986 Mini-Metro 1.0L Five Door
1989 Mini-Metro 1.3L
1974 Ford Capri 1.6L (Mk1 Facelift)
1989 Mk2 Ford Fiesta 1.1 Popular Plus (Fizz-Pop)
1987 Ford Orion 1.4LX
1983 Ford Capri 2.8 Injection :D
1960 Ford Anglia 105e DeLuxe :D
1964 Ford Anglia 105e DeLuxe (Another one I own... I must be mad)
And not forgetting my soon to be owned Rover P6 :D

First car bought in 1999. Not bad in less than 10 years of driving. I do love the big British cars especially with a V8 under the bonnet. fancy a Jag xk8, with the rising petrol prices I should get a right good bargin in the next year

I've always liked the big engined Vauxhalls! Never actually got round to owning one but have driven plenty - a mate was in suspension development at Luton. My all time favourite was actually the very late Viva 1800GLS with the second generation engine and the second generation 2300 VX4/90 - both extremely rare even at the time.

Chris

My P6 is the first classic I've owned and was only the fourth car I've ever bought! My first car was an '83 Passat estate followed by an '89 Volvo 740 estate then I moved onto a '95 Volvo 850 estate which I sold last year to buy V70.

Being born in the seventies meant I've travelled about a few of what you may call classics today but back then they were just old tat - Marina, Princess, Mini, Minor Traveller, Cortina, etc.

I do remember my first ride in a P6. It belonged to my Scout Leader and it was a '67 2000TC in white with red leather and it had SD1 cross spoke wheels on which I thought looked cool at the time.

chris the 1800 was the worst engine out of the 4 slant 4s they did 1.6,2.0,1.8,2.3 that was the only one that the pistons hit the valves if the cam belt broke the 1.6 engine was a lot better more revy as was the 2.0 agenst the 2.3 but the 2.3 had bags more touqe

The Viva GLS was a nice car & essentially just a rebadged Magnum which reminds me of another car I bought for a Tenner it was a T reg 1300GLS 4 Door in metalic green with black interior. The late model VX490 note the / had been dropped from the name was a real odd car they only built around 800 & they came with a Getrag 5 speed dogleg gearbox & strangely enough 2 examples turned up in the same scrapyard locally just about 4 or 5 years ago both minus gearboxes & both beyond redemption but I ploated them for parts. My VX2300 was originally an 1800 but I put a 2300 & 5 speed ZF into it out of my Firenza which I rolled into some trees

Regards Colin

Bungi - I agree about the majority of the 1800's but the last series had the breathing and carbs sorted out and made a rather sweeter engine than the 2300. Weren't many made though, both the Viva and the VX were really past it by then.
