Well Drat!! Makes Me Sad!

Facebook post led me to visit a pair of 3500s V8s available for parts or destined for crusher  . Weather was beautiful and a 30 minute ride thru northern California wine country in one of my MGs led me to secluded driveway with the Rovers presiding predominantly and shrub covered TR GT6. Poor cars had been parked and left to the elements for some years according to owner. Sadly, unless someone REALLY needs a part, (and I don't think this guy is up for pulling pieces) and willing to take a roller requiring lots of attention, I think the crusher will be the winner.

what a shame these look like two really solid cars. I have never seen a NADA with top and bottom front clear lenses only ever with all amber or top clear and bottom amber.

:( It's sad to see two more get crushed. The blue one looks easily saveable, and the white car's nicer than mine even with the rust. Wish they were closer, for the blue car's hood if nothing else.

These were posted on Facebook so if anybody wants them should be able to put you in touch....

Rich.

Come on you Yanks! Shake a leg & save those old girls, they're a weekends work here in Blighty........

I wouldn't mind a GT6 either, come to that.

WHAT...!!! Even with a thorough clean those cars would look infinitely better, they cannot be cubed...

I was in 'wine country' last year, I wish I'd known about these then as I'd have certainly tried to rescue them somehow!

I do hope that someone out there sees fit to give these cars a good home as they're ruddy rare and easily worth saving for future restoration.

They're on facebook, and I've been speaking with the daughter of the owner.. if anyone is interested, let me know.

The location makes it perfect to shove the two in a container for the UK

Cost for one containers worth to the UK is around the £750 mark. I'm sure Joseph and I could sort that if anyone is interested? At a sqeeze you can get three cars in one container with a bit of vertical stacking, so you could bring the GT6 along for the ride and sell it to fund the container!

Chris

Does that mean there's some hope for these cars, Chris? I'm deeply troubled by the prospect of their demise but can't do anything about it myself except perhaps contribute a small amount to a general subscription.

That is very good news. I'd gladly donate space on my property were I nearby, until caring homes were found for them. They must not be crushed. Even if beyond repair, they are a goldmine of parts for other NADA cars.

If I had storage space available and if they really had parts I needed...I was prepared to offer $500. There wasn't really anything I needed except perhaps a well done trailer hitch and a nice third brake light on the blue one. The cars took a long time just to free the rusted door and boot locks and owner says brakes had rusted solid some time back...gonna be a bear just to get 'em rolling. They DO look better in the pics.

That's nothing that would frighten the seasoned car gnome, oldbloke. But as I said, even if they were beyond repair they are a treasure trove of rare parts and must, on that basis alone, not go to the crusher.
