Wanted - rear caliper parts.

Evening all :)

My 3500 S1 P6 (with Girling rear brakes) has a problem in that the rear caliper on one side doesn't adjust on the ratchet mechanism to take up wear in the pads.

Therefore, I'm after either a complete caliper setup or new/secondhand ratchet/mechanism parts.

Has anyone any bits they would like to sell?

Cheers,
Jim.

I've probably got what you will need, but I'd only be guessing what it's likely to be before you get it apart to know for certain.
Plus there are different internals for early and late and simply a mis-match of those, or incorrect assembly can stop them working, so it may just be that it's not put together correctly.

Hi Jim.
Easiest solution is a complete replacement, keeps you on the road, and can easily be done.
Then you can strip the faulty one at your leisure and rebuild it.
I may have a spare!

Thanks Dave, that sounds like a good plan. If you have a spare one, any chance I could borrow it? :D

Thanks, I'll see if Pilkie has a spare I can borrow, and that'll give me a chance to dismantle mine and see what's what - might PM you when I have a better idea of exactly what I need. I hadn't realised the Girling calipers had changed through the years :)
