Frost still sell Vinylcote .... buy ET's in whatever colour you want. Rub down in grey scotchbrite and panel wipe. As such they will be keyed up and degreased. Ideal for a whole tin of this paint. Leave for a few days, the fit. I would buy a set with metal adjusters tough!
I was hoping to get a set that I could just put straight on. But then ones like that may go for a lot more. £40 for four of them I guess is not bad. Not sure why he is selling as a four not as two lots. :?
The seller states that the adjustment knobs are missing. To me it looks like only one of them has an adjustment knob (brown one, bottom right).
Richard, the knob is pressed to release the spring mechanism to allow the headrest to move front-to-back. If the knob is not there, then there will be a hole in the side.
The mechanism itself is very simple, easily accessed through the bottom panel held on with 4 screws and would be easily freed up with a bit of WD40.
Dunno where you'd get a spare knob though (ooooooeeerrr )
Looks like the black ones have been modified to screw into the rear seat back, i.e. to fit the rear seats. The normal fitting is a lot longer and doesn't have the holes.
I was thinking of fitting teardrops to the rear seats in our 2200 but decided that you'd never get the seatbacks hooked over the shelf brackets with them in place. You'd do it with the ET's though.
Surely not a lot of point for the rears? The standard optional rear headrests look absolutely georgeous and match fron ET's nicely. They are much easier to get hold of than you might suppose as well. A number of people do repros to riginal spec, including JRW.
Teardrops would have been a little different & think would look good too, notwithstanding the fact that I've got some & would have to buy a set of original/repro rear items.
