Some info ( a tale) that you may find usefull from my own saga of the alloys.
I have some alloys running 195/70 x14 tyres. These were a close fit arround the door area at the rear, but OK when I tested the car with only 1 person and 1/2 a tank of petrol.
I have just tried going to a rally, 4 adults, a picknick and a full tank. The 1st roundabout and the tyres were rubbing (but not on bumps strangly). They catch arround the rear door area.
The back of the car has been a bit low because of weak springs, but I was amazed to see how all my passengers etc had made the car sink by about 5 cm ! and my tight fitting tyres were catching again.
I am now investing in some new rear springs, here's hoping a higher rear end and less sinking under load will give enough clearance. I'll also get the big hammer out.
If you look back in the threads this is turning into a Greek saga, I had the idea of lowering the front to match the rear hight, but obviously this now seems the wrong way to go.
