Hi all,

I have box pleat...... Which I think (looking at the little tear  ) is leather faced..... But the sides seen to be more of a vinyl?

Are the series 2 seats a combination? And if so, does the furniture workshop leather dye work on both fabrics????

Has anyone tried torecolour these type of seats?

The car will be home soon, so I want to get my new front seats ready

Thanks

Not just series 2. All cars with the 'leather' interior only had leather on the bits you actually sit on. Sides and backs of all seats were vinyl (or Ambla).

Hi. I've successfully coloured both the vinyl and leather on my seats from Red to black using a furniture clinic kit. It's only been done a few months so I can't say how well it'll last?

Thanks guys..... That's reassuring

but first I have to remove the Gray Vinyl Cote that has been slathered all over my good front seats...... The stuff is like glue to get off

.....so after a couple of hours of scraping, rubbing and scrubbing we're left with this

Followed by some sponging and spraying we get to this little beauty

Just need to put the satin sealer coat on and we're done for the headrests..... Just the seats to go now

Looking good!
That style of ET headrest is all vinyl though, the earlier scalop type is leather faced!
Reminds me,,I need to get round to finishing my bronze flat pleat seat set!!

I knew the et's are vinyl..... Hence the scraping comment - finally removed the grey gunge with celly thinners!!!

I'll have to be a bit more careful on the leather bits of the seats I suspect
