V8 Sump Removal

Am I missing something

As the title says, I simply want to remove the sump from my V8 3500S.

WM says:

Remove sump drain plug - Check
Drain Oil and refit plug - Check
Remove sump - No Check

I see the sixteen bolts that need to be removed, but I am unable to get either a socket or a spanner on the rearmost two. The picture in the WM seems to show much more room than I seem to have :( I thought I would try and remove the cover on the lower part of the bellhousing, to see if it would give me a bit more room, but I am unable to remove it:- because the sump is in the way :? :? :?

Any help gratefully accepted :D

I might as well also ask this up front:- once I have all the bolts off, will the sump simply come off, or is there some special manipulation required to get it past any hidden obstructions inside?

All that was needed was a cup of Coffee

Came back to it, managed to get the cover over the bottom of the bellhousing off, (bit of a fiddle so I hope I can get it back on), which gave me easy access to the last two bolts and hey presto :D :D :D one sump off.

If in doubt, stop for Coffee

You are quite right .
Its saved me from many damaged items , not just when working on the P6.
The secret is knowing when to stop and let the fairies do their magic.
