upload pictures of all your p6's

To the point. At least on HS carbs, where everything is easily visible, there is some built-in lost motion (i can't think of a better description at the moment) in the lever that lowers the jet.

My original posting was aimed at HIF6's, but I can't really disagree with your summing up of HS6's, it just proves my point that you've already got lost motion in the linkages before you even start to think of the amount that builds up through normal wear and tear, which is why however hard you try with them, they're always going out of tune.

..here's the 8th anniversary picture of my 2000 project, with the engine actually in & running now :D . I'm moving onto spraying it in the next month or so (in cellulose that I bought a few years ago!):

And please excuse the following picture of our MG enjoying a splash yesterday:

:D :D

..........and there was I thinking that front wing was the finished article! Worthy of Tate Modern!

Nice to see you here, Phil. The next stage id going to be very satisfying - the butterfly emerging from moth stage!

The MG looks hust fine, but you ought to upgrade it to a V8!

Chris

Mmm, Shiny! Is that a S1 car with side trims, or an S2 car with an S1 Grill? I only ask cos mine's the same year.. Which must be the changeover year or close to it 8)

It's a S1, registered Aug 1970 and about 500 or so from the last build. The side trims are there because i had set my heart on the narrow export type, alas, i realised i couldn't justify what they would cost.
The old guy i bought it from had painstakingly converted it to S2, luckily he kept all the original bits so i swapped it back. Apart from the trims it's still got the vinyl roof but as it's got a sunroof i'm going to leave it for the time being.

that is very nice. Corsica blue? :D

It's Zircon, but being 2 pack the light seems to play tricks with it.

Yes, looking very very nice Gazza and congratulations. I like the colour and think the S1 grille/bonnet plus S2 side trims always looks very good.

Those are some grand photographs, Rob! Gorgeous the way the cool autumn rays are loving your Rover... I was extra wowed by 21577 and 21578 - should go in the "Wiew From the Windscreen" thread!
