Tyre size for ´69 2000 auto

I think that 165x14 tyres are now pretty much obsolete by major manufacturers.I work for ATS EUROMASTER and on recolection the only manufacturer of any repute is your own brand FULDA(GOODYEAR OWNED)It would be much easier to convert to 185/70x14 tyres which are more common. They have the same rolling circumference as 165x14 so no problems there. If you need more advice Rudiger i can find out from work

I recently changed my 4 tyres and rather than fit 185/70x14 I chose 175x14. Although the 185/70x14 size gives the same rolling circumference, I was not sure if my rims were wide enough the take advantage of the wider tyre, I dont know if the 4cyl and 8cyl ie 165x14 and 185x14 used the same width of rim. I felt the size I chose was a fair compromise.
I had a pretty good choice in this size, budget makes and brands including Hankook, Firestone and Continental, possibly Vredestein.
With 175x14 the car does not look any different and the steering is not any heavier, my speedo was never to acurate before so in not bothered about it being out now.

185/70x14 will fit on a 5 inch width rim wihout any problems.Only problem is turning the steering wheel without getting a hernia! ???

Hi Bandito.165X14 and 185/70x14 have the exact same rolling circumference.if you use the rule of thumb when fitting wider tyres(depending on rim width that is) which is 2 sizes wider one profile lower.Ive been in the job 20 years so trust me
