Towbar

I need a towbar for my p6 and wondering if anyone has one for sale,we,re going to the 70s weekend we,re camping,and didnt need a towbar as everything will fit in our p6.unfortunately our 9 yr old grandaughter wants to come and dress up as well,so now there wont be room for everything.does anyone have one going cheap.
 
HI WHERE IN UK ARE YOU ??? IVE FOUND OUT ACCIDENTALLY THAT THERE ARE TWO SIZES!! BELOW YOUR BUMPER,ON THE BODY,IN THE MIDDLE, BY THE VALENCE IS A SOLID BUMPER MOUNTING, WHAT IS THE DISTANCE OF THE MOUNTING HOLES IN IT ??? I WILL SEE IF ITS THE SAME AS THE ONE I DONT NEED, AND IF YOUR CLOSE TO ME. DAVE :)
 
From centre to centre it looks about 100 ml, we,re away Sat till Sunday at the all rover rally,We live in s yorks.
 
A company called Watling Engineering can supply a new tow bar for the P6, I got one up last week and it fitted a treat. The cost was 3139.00 delivered within 24 hrs. They have a web site and do bars for most classic cars the Rover one is part No. PR4A.

Not sure what the price should read but my P5 towbar came from Watling many years ago & cost £100 so a P6 bar should be around £150 or so now I would think. That can't be a confused £300+ though can it? That would be ridiculous. They turn up often enough on ebay. I have one that I bought off there but I'll not use it as it's a bit of a monster & will show beneath the bumper. A real heavy-duty Judy. Any offers?
 
I think the price was £139, but bill missed the shift key and got 3 instead of £.
Incidently if anyone is prepared to pay about three grand for a towbar, I'm sure I could sort one out for them!
 
Anybody got the Dummy's Guide to fitting tow bars on P6's? I've had a quick look in both the workshop and Haynes manuals but nothing useful there. Would it be safe enough to copy the wiring from the donor car or is that asking for trouble?
 
Buy a new wiring socket (most secondhand ones are worth replacing anyway) and it will come with the wiring instructions. Avoid using "scotchlocks" make proper connections.
