Timing

I recently replaced the spring weights in the distributor on my 2000 TC, It now is not running the same? I think the timing will need to be adjusted? I can see the timing marks on the pulley but no pointer as i used to have on my V8, How do i use a stobe to set the timing?

Thanks,
Aaron.

There should be a pointer screwed into the front of the block. If that's not there and you can't get one you can set it through the access plate on the bellhousing.

Or just ignore the marks and set it by trial and error to a position that's as close to pinking as possible without actually doing so. That's what I've done, partly because the pointer's missing anyway.
