Time to say goodbye ?

One of the joys of this forum is that when you get to sell a car you have a pretty comprehensively documented history of and work done, the care and taken and the pride invested into Stina's car is obvious to see. Anyone buying it would be getting a bargain. You can spend that much almost unnoticed over years of ownership on any classic.

Still, I follow P6s on carandclassic and it certainly isn't quick and easy to sell a P6 at the upper end of the scale. I'm guessing most of these get sold on through the clubs rather than Joe/Josephine public.

On the plus side - plenty of time to reconsider...

The last line of your post makes a good point Peter - having put the advert online I'm sure Stina may be having second thoughts, but with the ad lasting two months there's plenty of time to make the right decision. I'm in the same boat at the moment as my P5B Coupe is on the same site, before placing the ad I thought long and hard about and I'm not sure which way to jump shouls a buyer turn up.

As for Stina's car - looking at the ad itself it really is lovely - good luck!

Having sold cars on car and classic. The buyers were reasonable.

Stick to your price because if the phone is ringing then it is worth the asking price and will sell. A dealer may try to scoop it and sell it on for a premium.

Lovely car and worth the money.

Colin

Well i put Her on to test the water as it were , within two hours the phone was ringing , now all of a sudden it's all very real  :?

Scary isn't it! I've had lots of hits but only one serious 'bite' so far (slight mobile phone issue bunging up the works), before I bought the P5B though I put my P6B on the same site and it went without any hassle at all.

If I were looking for another P6B I wouldn't hesitate to come and view yours, alas I'm on the lookout for a '60s Jag!

Sad to see you sold the old girl Stina :( but I'm sure you will occasionally lurk on here and maybe say hi once in a while, or add your words of wisdom to a query or two :D

Don't forget to let us know about any new classic ventures you have

All the best

I hope you'll stay with us on the forum and eventually buy another. You've been a major contributor here getting your hands dirty, making your car better and sharing the knowledge you gained. All done with the best of humour and spirits too.

I'm not likely to sell mine this year but unfortunately the running costs are getting very high. This isn't actually as one might expect the not very amusing fuel consumption or some crazy insurance premium. It's due to the tax here being based on engine size and the requirement for a garage. This costs 839chf (£550) and 1200chf (£800) respectively. Nearly £1350 a year before I turn a wheel is quite a commitment!

That didn't take long & if you got your full price then that bodes quite well for current P6 values.

Good luck with the hunt, my brother recently bought a fairly recent Saab for £1500. It's his daily & he loves it.

Well then, good bye to you too!
I hope you don't come to regret selling your P6, which looked a very fine example of the breed.
As has been remarked already, you did a great job improving it, and I always enjoyed reading about your exploits. You'll be missed around these parts!
Drop in now and again and let us know how you're getting on, and what car you buy instead.
