OK, so its raining outside, and I'm idly surfing, and Grifterkid's thread elsewhere about original Dealer window stickers got me reminiscing about my old '71 Lincoln Town Coupé, with it's 'Holmes-Tuttle Beverley Hills Lincoln' number plate surrounds. Which in turn got me thinking about what cars I wish I owned today.
Currently my fantasy garage would contain my P6, roadworthy again, and done exactly the way I've always wanted to detail one. That's slowly taking shape...
Next to that I'd like... another Lincoln, just like the one I sold 23 years ago, but immaculate.
Perhaps with air suspension so I could drop it right down low at the cruise.
Third car would be a DeTomaso Pantera, bright red and matt black, with the great big white lettering on the sides, and built to the hilt for track action. Hall Pantera build, uncluttered, raw, brutal, bad.
Fourth place would be a mildly hot-rodded 1956 Ford F100 pickup truck in a very dark green, lowered on Halibrand mag wheels with a wicked forward rake. I'd do some wicked period Fifties signwriting, perhaps even "Al's Rod Shop" on the doors, and some subtle pinstriping. Under that fat bonnet, a contemporary Ford 'Boss' SuperDuty 6.2litre V8.
Three Fords in my top five!? Wait, that is waaay too unbalanced. I'll have to have another think about this. More thoughts to follow...
How about you guys? What would you park beside your P6 Rovers, if money were no object...?
