throttle linkage

hi all decided to remove air filter carbs and inlet manifold today for a little refresh, and noticed the throttle linkage as it enters the bulk head is flapping about in a hole should there be a bush of some sort to stop it flapping so much, surely this would have an adverse effect on throttle response! thanks in advance

It needs a throttle bush, part 44 in the link below.

If 34 and 35 do not look very healthy, I would replace them also. If your springs at the carbs are tired or anything else at the throttle bodies ist sticking, you can check by decoupling the short linkage at the carbs (the longer one between the carbs remains) and operate them manually.

ok where the rod goes in to the bracket nearest the carb there is slight play is this normal or should they be snug?
