Think I recognise this

I've loved the look of this car ever since it appeared on the forum, hope he gets what he needs for it.

It's been on Car and Classic recently too. Any idea why he can't keep it? Is it the insurance again?

Insurance and maybe MPG I think. Check his Facebook page... Or the practical classics page...
Rich.

It's mainly the insurance issue, which is getting a bit excessive really. The other issue, is that the place where I was storing the car, has been sold, meaning that it's sitting at the house just now, and making the drive a bit too full! So, if I can sort some alternative storage, I will probably keep it, and just hope for a pay rise, or a reduction in my insurance premium! It's not all over yet! I've been using it a lot over the last couple of days, today especially, since it was my day off, I did an 80 mile trip around some nice local roads since the weather was lovely. Photos to follow in my thread, and some more work that's been done! :D

Shop around for insurance. I found a massive difference in prices when mine were due for renewal. You need to phone up too, online quotes were massively different from those I got over the phone, even from the same companies. It takes ages, and it means phoning the same companies over and again to get them to price match each time you get a new best price. In the end Footman James, and RH insurance came out best for me. I managed to get the Jaguar covered for less than half the renewal price I'd been quoted.

£78.60 for my 3500s with lancaster i think
restricted to 1500 miles but i did a big fat zero last year but its only a quid and a bit a week.

Have you tried Carol Nash for insurance? I know they do motorbikes usually, however, I got my classic insurance through them and they were damned reasonable. I was 23 at the time, full comp with key cover also for something in the region of 130 quid (can't remember exactly.)

I find they can be overlooked as they're seen mainly as a bike insurer.

Hope this helps, stunning car btw.

Did you try adding your Mum or Dad as a named driver? Brings our daughters down with Mum on there

i hope you can keep her in the end, we will miss your pics and adventures on here. i see you have been getting the usual chancers on the ebay offering silly prices i bet.
i hope you get it sorted
regards
marcus

Come on, highest offer just 1400 quid - that probably doesn't even cover what he's done to it, let alone the cost incurred in acquiring it and bringing it home - or just how fantastic it looks (and probably drives, given all Frazzle has done to it).

If you look above at Frazzles las post on this thread he said high insurance and nowhere to store the car is the main reasons for the the sale, he obviously loves the car and doesn't want to give it away but he does say if he can find storage he will probably keep it. Maybe he has !!!!!!!

I was actually thinking of buying this car, but when I spoke to him he said that he'd just found somewhere to store it over winter so it wasn't for sale anymore. Given all he's done with it over the last year I thought it was a bit of a bargain and I'm surprised nobody offered the full amount.

Yes, sorry, I did mean to update this. I now have storage for the car, when it's not in use, which means I get some jobs done on it, as well as keeping off the roads in the very worst of the weather! I'll be keeping it as long as I can, I think. It's just that my current situation isn't terribly predictable, so nothing is set in stone, unfortunately. Let's hope the car's here to stay though! :D
