Hello everyone,
I am Rolf, Stefan´s (transexl, here on the forum, too) little brother, married with Pamela, I´ve got two girls (Lisa, 10, Hanna, 4). I love old cars, untill several months ago never thought about having one though, now looking forward to having a P6 in the future as soon as we spot one in GB (added on 17. of August 2011: We found a car !!!)
1. THANK YOU ALL OF YOU, for your support, your different oppinions about a unique car, your pros and contras, it makes things easier for me knowing that there are so many people who take care as I know so little about the P6 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Why the P6 ???? Like I mentioned before, I love old cars, especially the ones from the 60ies/70ies. When S., Heike (his girlfriend) and me started thinking about
getting a car, there were different directions /cars we thought into/about, all ending in a "Too boring" or "Too expensive" or "Too expensive AND boring". As Stefan
and I are half dutch (mother) and used to live VERY,VERY close to the border in a little village where untill some years ago the RAF was sitting, we had quite different
cars running through our lifes, among them the P6 (and SD1 and Reliant and Vauxall and Jags and....). Why not an Opel or a Citroen (two makes I´m very fond of) ???
Simply because I know all off them (Commodore, Ascona, SM, Ami, DS etc.) as there are quite a view running "next door". After long thinking I can remember having
seen ONE P6 back somewher in the early nineties (must have been a cameron green V8). After that one..........NOTHING, they have completely disappeared in
Germany and the Netherlands, at least that´s what it feels like !!!! You can see DSes, all kinds of old Mercedeses, MGs, Jags, Opel, even NSU ro80 (quite rare even
here), Maybach, old french cars, old expensive cars, old cheap cars, pre and post WWII cars but I really haven´t seen a P6 life since that day, not even on big meetings
or shows !!!! It also seemed to be a classic car not reachable to us as it is an exotic type here, I never tought prices are so different in GB. Together with its unique
look (some people say strange, few even say ugly), the outstanding technique and the thought of "And now for something completely different !", I´m very glad we
made this choice !!!!!!
Bye
Rolf
