temporary insurance

Evenin' all,
Would anybody happen to know if insurance companies still offer temporary insurance? When I've moved vehicles around for people in the past for example when picking up from a seller I've got temporary cover to allow me to drive the car legally (obviously all other paperwork in order). IIRC it was normally valid for one day or a weekend, anybody know of this still going on or has the 4 star fumes finally got to the grey matter?
Thanks.

You can still get this type of insurance - usually up to 30 days.

However talk to your broker first
- they can usually help

It's still available, and has recently been promoted through telly adverts to raise the profile. Anything from one days cover upwards IIRC. Can't remember the name of the company offhand but Google should be your friend here.

I've done this through norwich union/aviva previously - they had a £10 a day insurance on their website....

Thanks for your replies, tried a few Google'd ones earlier but none seem to be willing to do anything over 15yrs old (car that is, not me although the missus may have something to say about mental age etc). I shall try the Norwich Union one tomorrow and see how I get on.
:D

I tried to sort this for driving my p6 to the MOT. Most companies were about £25 per day. I found several through google. In the end I added the car to one of my existing classic car policies for £35 for the remaining 3 months of the policy. Worth trying that if that's an option for you.

Adding it to the existing policy??!!? Why the hell didn't I think of that? I really must stop working the graveyard shift at work. Thanks for the reminder there I'll try the insurers on monday.
Situation so far is I've found a company that will cover the car for saturday for £24 so that'll get me home, for an extra £3 you can get, and I quote" Oops Cover" which is if you accidentally scratch it or leave the keys in it or spill something on your stereo, they'll cover it. Yes really. I nearly added it just to get a certificate with "oops cover" written on it. It's worth three quid for that alone. Thanks again for all your help people.
