t35 seepage

I've vowed to once and for all fix a chronically leaking box before we move to Arizona this summer. Pretty sure one of the major culprits is the shift selector shaft seal (try saying that quickly five times in a row!).... my treasured shop manual doesn't have a procedure - can I get at the seal easily? - the pan is off but the tranny is in-situ.. thank you all, Steve V.

Seals are still available from here:

Buy more than one, they damage easily when you try to fit them. It might be worth making a tool to fit it, or at the very least a very thin sleeve to fit over the selector shaft, as there's a ridge on the shaft that turns the seal insideout when you fit it. They can be done in-situ, just prise the old one out, and then (attempt) to push the new one in. Do-able, but fiddley.
