Suffix letter for Girling or Dunlop

Can anyone tell me where I can find the suffix letter for my 1972 P6 2000TC as described in the Owners Workshop Manual Autobook 890. It states 'Two types of brakes have been fitted. Dunlop to SC cars with suffix letter A,B,C and D and TC cars with suffix letter A. All other cars and all automatics have been fitted with Girling brakes'. I have looked on the V5 but cannot find a suffix letter in the model number. All it states on my V5 is 2000TC
I need to know what was fitted as they seriously need servicing. Many thanks in advance..........Steve

The Changeover from Dunlop to Girling brakes was around 1966 - 1967, so yours being a 1972 has definitely Girling brakes.

I've never heard that on a 2000 (other than owner upgrades), AFAIK it was only some 2200 that had V8 front calipers fitted at the factory due to supply problems.

Hi, Yes I know, I was refering to PO mods just like Demetris did.

Thanks a lot, guys. I also found out today that mine is a 2 series not the original series. Thanks again for your most welcome input and information......Steve :)
