Two inch SU HS8 carbs on manifold with air filter / elbows etc.
Used on my 4.6 engine to great effect.
For sale a customised SU carb set up for larger capacity Rover V8 engines.
The manifold is a Rover item. The carbs are 2” HS8 units that have been mounted onto the Rover manifold.
The airbox is a Rover P6 item with enlarged intake.
The air filters are new Montego units that are twice the size of the std P6 units.
The alloy elbows have been extended to allow connection between carbs and air box.
Included are a new set of breather pipes and clips to fit P6 style rocker covers.
The float chamber overflow pipes are included, as are fuel pipe flow and return pipe stubs, and interconnecting fuel pipe.
The carbs were refreshed with new jets and needles from Burlen fuels. There are three sets of main needles in a range close to those fitted.
This setup was fitted to my 4.6 motor, the motor was set up on a dyno to dial in the fuelling and the motor gave 236bhp at the flywheel.
Throttle linkage is designed to marry up to stock P6 linkage, can be altered to suit any application.
This set up will fit under a standard P6 bonnet as there is only a small difference in height.
Very good setup for economy, only topped really by either a four barrel, or modern fuel injection for performance, both of which are much more costly.
Will suit variety of Rover V8 engined vehicles, P6, SD1, 4x4, kits, etc.
