hi there,
I have had an annoying rattle from the rear p/s side for the last 18 months.
Today over lunch , I reasoned that I had checked all the rubber bushes that I could see and inspected nuts for looseness, all were serviceable , so in desperation I decide to remove the n/s rear shocker, as the only possible remaining source of the noise.
I removed the 2 nuts on the top of the unit, (visually all looked well and had been inspected before), and all became apparent... the top rubber bush had disintegrated on the inside, and allowed the stem of the shocker to touch the side of the entry hole in the upper body. I rummaged around my many old parts boxes and found 2 suitable rubber bushes that were a perfect fit for the rover. Fitted them and did a test drive, no more noises from the rear, very happy at the Win Win for the day,
Also yesterday had another win, fitted a LED high level stop light bar the the rear window an while I had all the tools out, fitted 2 front side wing indicators, a job that had been on the back-burner for many months, all worked first time, Win Win again..
