Hi all.

I have 2 rare steering wheels for sale.
1st is a VERY,VERY nice original rare woodrim non pas wheel,17".
2nd is the rare alloy PAS wheel,16" that is in useable condition but would benefit from a new leather cover.
Both are complete with boss and std badge, but I may have a 3500S badge somewhere?
The last wood rim I sold went for about £120 4 yrs ago and wasnt as good as this!!!.
I am open to sensible offers for either of them, and will post anywhere at cost

thats just what i want that wood rim. shame you didnt put it up for sale a month ago when i had the cash :(

I'm looking at the wooden one too and thinking how nice that would look in PAE. Hmmmmmm....

Don't give away too much at this stage and make sure you drive a hard bargain :D

Hi all.
Both of these steering wheels are still available, contact me if interested before they go on Ebay.

i had the wooden 1 on mth for years and replaced it as everytime i hit a pothole the metal part was cutting my fingers all the time so glad i replaced it

Hi Gareth.
Were you holding it at the correct 10 to 2 position, or holding it lazily via the middle spokes?
Those welsh roads must be bad!!!
I normally avoid potholes for fear of damage to wheels, tyres and suspension bits!!
Could that be the cause of your weird susp problems I wonder??
I have only ever had 1 bad experience of a pothole causing the wheel to hit my fingers/hands to the point it hurt, but never to the point of changing the steering wheel because of it!!
I have had the wood/ally moto-lita on for a good few years now,and done a fair few thou miles with no bruises, cuts, damage to me!!

yea i never hold the centre part and always avoid hitting the pot holes but some times it cant be helped yea the road over here are bad i just could not get on with it so i put the other type on feels much better and since doing this i have never cut my fingers lol :D

The "wooden" wheels are the full 17". In actual fact the rim is plastic/bakelite with a printed wood grain pattern. That's why they are so rare in good condition - the pattern wears off and the rim often cracks.

Last chance before worldwide Ebay!
Make me an offer, will be at Stoneleigh if that helps for collection or a looksee.

very tempting i must say, what condition is the wood 1 in? Any splits? Has it been re-varnished at all? I hope to be at stoneleigh.
Thanks

As Chris says...

This one is VERY!!!! Good,,no splits, cracks, minimal pattern wear, very small blemish at about 12oclock,but easily disguised with a tin or 2 of humbrol model paints!!
Bit of autosol on the spokes will get you a clean satin or if you work hard a near mirror finish..
Simple bit of black gloss for the boss and badge surround and it would look the dogs wotsits in a show car!
From what I remember its better than the last one I sold for £120...
There is a clifford sticker on the back, but I dont think this actually refers to the make of wheel or supplier for Rover, but its a weird coincidence that the last one I sold had a sticker as well.
Maybe its the same one???
I would like £150 for it,and for a UK based forum member,I will include free p/p or can deliver to stoneleigh.

it sounds nice, i would prefer to have a look at it if your going to stoneleigh bring it with you so i can have a look? Make an offer? :D Thanks!

Still available if anybody is interested!
as is the alloy one!
Wood effect one is £150 cash on collect or with free std UK p/p.
or £150 + worldwide insured p/p at cost.
Am open to offers on the alloy one!
Treat your car for Xmas!!!

Thinking about it, Pilkie, but just don't have that kind of cash right now, with Xmas coming up and Brown Rover having sucked up my entire Brown Rover budget and some since coming home a month ago.

If you're not in a hurry to put 'em up on eBay, you'll surely have a buyer on here at some point. Otherwise I might treat myself to a MotoLita at some stage.

Wood effect one now sold!!
Went quite quick via Ebay. :D
But By Crikey those fees are extortion!
Its cost just under £20 in total!!

Great, so now I can put mine up on the forum without interfering with your sales-programme!
