A local Chester branch member, mint as new condition, a very nice car indeed

Sold a couple of weeks ago for £6000 which fell through

"an original, unused factory base unit" So its not really a 72 car? he wont accept foreign bids anyway (and I dont think my wife would let me!!) but I know that it would be impossible to register here as a 1972 car.

Can someone explain to me the legalities in the UK of doing this?

It's not illegal to rebuild a car into a brand new bodyshell, or in this case, base unit. If you think about it, it's only the largest component of a car!
The only time that I can think you might hit a problem is if the old bodyshell doesn't get destroyed afterwards, and then someone tries to rebuild theirs into it, and then sends off for a log book. But I very much doubt this would happen.

I have to admit, that car looks lovely. I just hope the first three letters of the registration number aren't some kind of statement! :D

Hi all
If the seller was of a mind,he/she could make a fortune flogging the number to a chavvy footballers wife..."Gotta 'ave a number for me motah innit!!! ":D :D :D

That's in my home town too. I've never seen it around though.
I may go over for a sneaky peek but I just know I'd be far too tempted! :D

Mine's not far off that sort of condition though really. Just needs bits and bobs and an MoT. I must get my finger out and get her sorted, and that has just spurred me on a bit!
