hi, i have just got my first p6 its a 2200sc 1976.it is one owner and in very good condition, but it has the older ribbon type speedo which i thought was only used on the earlier cars??? can anyone suggest why as the rest of the car is totally original. thanks stuart. my email is stuartrichardson1@hotmail.com

Thats correct, sc had strip speedo, TC and V8 had round instruments

all 2000/2200 SC manual and autos had the ribbon type speedo from 1963 through to the end of production in 1977. the first two years production of the V8 1968-1970 also had the ribbon type speedo which then changed to the round dials on the series 2 cars. 2000/2200 TC cars were the same as the V8 with round dials. so your car has not been messed with it has the correct instrument cluster for the model.
